What will it be Like in God's coming Kingdom?
Will the Kingdom of God be boring, or beyond our Wildest Dreams?

We have good reasons to believe that God's Kingdom will be lots of fun and surprises, if not beyond our Wildest Dreams.  God's Himself will also be among us, and in us.

Although there will not be "marriage" as it is or has been on earth, we will all be "Married" to the Lord, our Creator / God: who made not only all life forms, but made us in His image: Gen. 1:26-27.  God also invented food, intimacy, pleasure, and sex.  And since these things exist on earth, we should not be surprised if they exist in God's coming kingdom.  In fact, we have reason to believe that relationships, fun, and intimacy will be even better.

For example, Psalm 145:15-20 says that,

"The eyes of all look to Thee, and Thou dost give them their food in due time.  Thou dost open Thy hand, and ... satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in  all His ways, and kind in all His deeds.   The Lord is near to all who call  upon Him,  To all who call upon Him in truth.  He will fulfill  the desire of  those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and will save them.  The Lord keeps all who love Him; But all the wicked He will destroy."

Psalm 16:11 tells us that in God's presence is "fullness of joy" and in His right hand are "pleasures forever." And since God is called the God of truth, we have every reason to believe that the above words are true: John 17:17.

We also know that we will be like Jesus. For example, 1 John 3:1-2 says:

"See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are.   For this reason the world does not know us, because it does not know Him.  Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be.  We know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.  And everyone who has this hope fixed on him purifies himself, just as He is pure."

The fact that we don't know "as yet what we shall be," doesn't mean that we can't speculate or make an educated guess: based on what we have been told.  For example, Jesus Himself tells us in Rev. 21:4-5 that He is going to "make all things new."  This means, not only a New Heavens and a New Earth, but also new bodies for us.  See also 2 Cor. 5:1-9.

We also know that we will still be able to eat and drink.  For example, see Isa. 25:6-9; Luke 24:36-43, and Rev. 22:1-2.

We also know that after His resurrection, Jesus could appear and/or disappear.  From this we can speculate that the game of "hide and seek" in God's kingdom will be different, if not more fun, than it ever was on earth: and that we can never be certain who might be watching us.

So what about women?

In Matthew Jesus said that in heaven there is no more marriage and that we will be "like" angels.  Because of this, and the fact that the only angels that are depicted in the Bible are men, or like men, some Bible scholars say that there are no  female, or female-like angels.  In this regard we are not told very much about angels.  In fact we only know the names of three of them; however, there are valid reasons to suspect that female angels do exist, and we will discuss this in an article on this topic.  On a similar note, we are told in Gal. 3:28 that in the coming kingdom there will be "neither male nor female" -- at least not in the sense that we have known in this life.  Yet we also are told that God has both sons and daughters (Isa. 43:6-7), and in Jer. 31:22 we are told that God will "make a new thing" in the Earth, and that "a woman will encompass a man."   For more on the significance of this see the link below on Female Angels.

In conclusion, although we are not told all of the things that we will be doing in God's new kingdome, of this we can be  certain: that "None of those who believe in (Jesus) will be disappointed." Rom. 9:33, 10:11, Isa. 28:16, 51:11, and I Pet. 2:6-7.  See also I Cor. 2:9; Psalm 31:19, 32:10, and Rev. 22;12-14.
