Do Christians Hate?

The simple answer is no, true Christians do not hate others.  However, they are said to do so with regard to homosexuals and the gay lifestyle.  The fact is that Jesus taught His followers to love and 'tolerate' even their "enemies.”   The question is, what does it mean to hate?  And if God really made us, then His opinion on life counts for more than ours.

Just because Christians disagree with the gay lifestyle, does not mean that they "hate" gays.  In fact, Christians are taught to love sinners, yet hate sin.  So when Christians voice views that are in conflict with  the gay lifestyle, this does not mean that they hate them.

This is an issue of truth as opposed to personal preference, prejudice, or "hate."  In this regard, if adulterers or fornicators organized so as to conduct Fornicator Pride parades, or Adulterer Pride parades, Christians would also be forced to speak out against them for the same reasons.

The fact is that gays and lesbians often want to force their views upon all of society, do away with Free Speech, and teach other people’s children only their opinions of right and wrong, while at the same time ignoring the fact that everyone on the planet was born from a Mother and Father -- including gays and lesbians.  Nature itself, in this regard, discriminates against homosexuals, by only allowing opposite sex couples to share their DNA and produce offspring.

Another fact that is often minimized or ignored is whether or not gays are able to change.  In this regard, many thousands of former gays and lesbians
have changed their lifestyles. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

God’s character is Love and Truth, and loving others means speaking the truth even when it isn’t popular: John 15:15-22.

Every Christian has had to change his or her ways and ask for God’s forgiveness and help.  Unlike Muslims, who are intolerant of anyone who isn't like them, including gays, Christians are taught to Love even those who hate them: Matt. 5:10-16; 22-24; 43-48; 6:19-24; Col. 3:9-14.

Peace with God doesn’t come from conforming to the world but to what pleases God.  And when our lives please God we experience a deep peace that we are told will never end: Matt. 12:50; John 3:16; 6:37-41; 11:25-26; 14:1-6; Rom. 10:4-13; 2 Cor. 5:17; I Pet. 1:3-5; I John 2:25-3:3; 5:11-13.
